Sent the wrong amount to a crypto exchange order?
Stop before adding another payment. Underpayments, overpayments and split deposits can fall outside the quote conditions or route minimum. Keep the order reference and every transaction hash for review.

DIAGNOSIS FIRST
Identify what actually happened
The result depends on the received total, route minimum, rate type, quote window and provider processing rules. A fixed quote can require one exact, timely deposit. Sending the difference later does not automatically restore the original conditions.
SAFE NEXT ACTIONS
Work through the evidence in order
- 01Record the intended order amount and the amount visible on-chain.
- 02Check whether the transaction used the correct asset, network and deposit address.
- 03Wait for the existing tracker to recognize the first payment.
- 04Do not send a correction unless the official order flow specifically requests it.
- 05Provide all hashes when more than one transaction was already broadcast.
KEEP THIS EVIDENCE
- Order amount and rate type
- Every source transaction hash
- Actual amounts received at the deposit address
- Quote expiry and broadcast times
STOP BEFORE YOU DO THIS
- Do not assume two payments will be combined automatically.
- Do not create a new order for already-sent funds.
- Do not promise yourself the expired exchange rate.
SITUATION-SPECIFIC FAQ
Answers before you escalate
Open a ticketWill an underpayment always be refunded?
No universal result applies. It depends on provider conditions, the route minimum and the cost or feasibility of a return.
Can an overpayment receive the original rate?
The excess can require recalculation or review and is not automatically protected by the original quote.
Should I send the missing difference?
Only when the official order flow or provider support explicitly instructs it for the same order.
