ROUTE-SPECIFIC GUIDE

How to swap ETH to BTC

ETH is both the asset being exchanged and the currency normally used to pay the Ethereum sending fee. Check the wallet fee before choosing the deposit amount so the balance can cover the transfer as well as the ETH being exchanged.

The final destination must accept native Bitcoin mainnet. An Ethereum 0x address, a wrapped-BTC token balance or a Lightning invoice is not the payout route shown here. A confirmed Ethereum deposit does not mean the separate Bitcoin payout is already confirmed.

Before you exchange

  • Confirm Ethereum mainnet, not an L2 or another EVM chain.
  • Verify the full BTC address on the wallet screen.
  • Review the transaction hash on an Ethereum explorer.

Native Bitcoin addresses commonly start with bc1, 1 or 3. Confirm that the receiving wallet accepts BTC on Bitcoin mainnet.

Send ETH on the stated network

Ethereum addresses start with 0x. Verify that the destination wallet is set to Ethereum mainnet before confirming the exchange. Ethereum settlement time depends on current network conditions and the confirmation requirements shown with the live quote.
