Monero network guide for XMR exchanges
Monero uses privacy-focused transaction construction and several receiving-address formats. A wallet-to-wallet exchange can pay native XMR without making the exchange boundary itself invisible.

Native XMR
Network identity
XMR is native to Monero. The network hides transaction amounts and uses one-time destination data on-chain, but users still provide an exchange order, deposit and payout context to the provider.
Address rules
Wallets can provide primary addresses, subaddresses or integrated addresses. Copy the complete supported value; visual checking only the beginning and end is not enough for a long Monero address.
Fee mechanism
The sending wallet pays an XMR network fee based on transaction construction and fee conditions. The wallet selects spendable outputs and creates the privacy-preserving transaction.
Settlement
Monero blocks and provider confirmation requirements affect deposit timing. Wallet synchronization also matters: a receiving wallet can need time to scan the chain before it displays a payout.
Memo or tag
Modern wallet flows commonly use subaddresses rather than separate payment IDs. Integrated addresses can encode payment information. Follow the exact address and extra-field instructions shown by the route.
Tokens and representations
Native XMR should be sent only on the Monero network. A wrapped or tokenized Monero representation on another chain is not a native XMR deposit.
MOST COMMON ROUTE ERROR
What usually goes wrong
Privacy is sometimes described as anonymity for the entire exchange. The Monero leg protects on-chain details, while the provider and the other blockchain can still observe order or transaction information.
CONCRETE EXCHANGE EXAMPLE
Follow both legs of the route
For BTC to XMR, the deposit is public Bitcoin and the payout is native Monero. The BTC transaction remains visible on Bitcoin; the provider then creates a separate XMR payout to the supplied Monero address.
BEFORE YOU SEND
Monero checklist
- Confirm native XMR on the Monero network.
- Copy the complete primary, subaddress or supported integrated address.
- Allow for wallet synchronization and provider confirmations.
- Keep the private order link separate from public messages.
MONERO FAQ
Network-specific answers
Does a Monero payout make the Bitcoin deposit private?
No. The original Bitcoin transaction remains on Bitcoin. The XMR payout follows Monero’s privacy model on its own network.
Can I use a Monero subaddress for a payout?
Use a valid address supported by the selected provider route; subaddresses are a common modern wallet format.
Why is my Monero wallet not showing the payout yet?
Check the payout hash and wallet synchronization. A wallet must scan the relevant chain data before displaying incoming funds.
